New Year’s Eve Countdown Goodies. Create a fun, festive countdown on New Year’s Eve using inexpensive supplies for your kids or for your guests at your party.
Learn how to make this festive New Year’s Eve countdown using supplies that you can get at Dollar Tree. I made these for my kids to count down to the new year (at least until their bedtime).

I found a great idea to create New Year’s Eve countdown goodies. I thought this would be perfect for including my kids in the fun since they can’t stay up until midnight.
You could do this project for each of your guests at a party, create a raffle, or create fun little gifts for your kids to celebrate.
How to Make a New Year’s Eve Countdown
Supplies:
- Favor Boxes (for smaller items)
- Sequins
- Iridescent Shreds Filler
- Paper Clocks
- Gift Bags (for larger items)
The boxes were plain white, so I added some glue and sequins to make them more festive.
Then, I cut out the clocks so they were only the white circles rather than the larger squares.
Once they were cut out, I glued the clocks to the boxes using hot glue. But any adhesive will work.
Countdown Boxes Fillers
Then, depending on how you plan your countdown, you fill each little box with a goodie.
For my kids I included:
After the goodies were in the boxes, I added the iridescent shreds to cover them up since the box tops were open.
For the craft project I purchased, it wouldn’t fit in the box, so I used the present die cut to put in the box saying “open your gifts”. I then placed the projects in plain bags decorated with sequins.
Set each clock for each hour of your countdown. We started at noon and went until my kid’s 8:00 bedtime. Then, have your child open the present when the clock matches the time. And enjoy your fun countdown!
