Valentine Date Night Gift Basket – Create a romantic date night gift basket for your special someone this Valentine’s Day using items you can find at Target.
I will be honest. On most Valentine’s Days, my husband and I don’t usually do much. We might go out to dinner, but usually, we hang out with the kids.
The first year after we became parents, we had a date night at Denny’s with our five-month-old son. We received a gift card for Christmas, so it was the perfect time to use it to go out to dinner. Denny’s on Valentine’s? Romantic, right?!

However, my husband and I are coming up on our 10th wedding anniversary in April. We have been together even longer than that—almost 13 years, to be exact. Our lives have changed dramatically since we first met. We bought a house, got married, and had two kids.
Create a Valentine’s Day Gift Basket
It can be hard to keep the sparks alive when real life is constantly happening around you. Making your marriage a priority takes time. And sometimes you can get stuck in a rut with your day-to-day life always being the same.
To reignite some of the passion and closeness in our relationship, I thought it would be fun to surprise my husband with a little date night gift basket. Although I say the basket is for him, it is really for both of us (wink!).
To start with, I headed to my favorite store, Target, to see what I could find to include in my basket.
Finding a romantic gift for a woman seems easy. Flowers or jewelry are usually a safe bet.
However, finding something romantic for that special man in your life can be a little more complicated. I did have fun shopping at Target for my husband. Usually, I shop there to find cute stuff for myself or the kids.
I started by checking The Dollar Spot. They usually have the greatest containers and baskets. Sure enough, I found the perfect burlap bag. It was not too girly and would be perfect for storing all my goodies.
I wanted a little pop of color and found a dish towel. I will admit it matches my kitchen, so it will ultimately be used there.
Next, I found some things to create a romantic date night for us at home. We can’t always get a babysitter and go out, so planning date nights at home helps to keep our relationship fresh!

Assemble Valentine’s Day Gift Basket
Start by assembling your basket or bag. I placed the towel inside and spread it out over the edges so you can see the color.
I added each item to the gift basket, starting with the biggest items and adding the smaller items around them. This included sparkling cider, two champagne glasses, and a candle.
Instead of simply placing the bag of truffles into the basket, I opened it up and added them to the champagne glasses. Add the K-Y® Love, and the basket will be complete!
I created a free printable that I am sharing to print out and attach to your gift. It is a little silly, but I think it turned out pretty cute!
The gift tag says, “Roses are red. Violets are blue. Let’s ignite the sparks between me and you.”
Print the tag, cut it out, and attach it with ribbon or twine. I also found this coordinating ribbon at The Dollar Spot.
Tie the tag on your basket, and you are all set to give it to your special someone!
