Thrift Store Find – Organizing Junk Drawer. Check the thrift stores to find bins to organize the junk drawer in your home.
I have been on an organizing extravaganza at my house for months now.
You’re thinking, “You should be done by now.”
Unfortunately, this seems to be an ongoing process. I am somewhat of a pack rat.
Even if you come to my house, you may not know I am an organized hoarder. I am one of those people that thrives on order. And I can always tell when it is time to start re-organizing the house because my mood goes from happy to crappy in no time flat!
Which brings me to my post.
Shop Thrift Stores to Save Money on Organizing Supplies
I love thrift stores. They have GREAT stuff for almost no money!
The last time I went to Goodwill, I scored this inexpensive metal utensil holder in great shape. It was only $1.99, so I knew I had to get it. I figured I would be able to use it somewhere to organize something. (See? – pack rat/hoarder = me.)

A few days passed, and I went into my junk drawer to find something – honestly, I don’t even remember what – and this is what I was blessed with:
Not so much.
I couldn’t find anything in there. I have all these little plastic and metal organizer trays in there, but since they weigh almost nothing, they move around everywhere.
So, after a few months, everything is all over the drawer. Add that we toss stuff in there, and this is what you get!
As I scrounged through the drawer to find whatever I needed, I thought, “Perfect! I can use the new tray I bought at Goodwill to fix this!”
I decided to organize it my favorite way – empty the space and take it all out. I had stuff all over every counter. But, about 10 minutes later, I was blessed with this:
I would say it took me another ten minutes to return all the stuff in the drawer that shouldn’t have been there. Not too bad for 20 minutes of work.
I don’t know what it is about a clean, organized space that makes me so happy, but it just does. This one made me especially happy because it only cost me $1.99!
What organizing projects have you done that makes you happy?
