There are so many hidden gems all around your home state if you just know where to look for them. Having a staycation near where you live can be a fun way to get away, explore new parts of town you may not have been too, and relax without the stress of traveling very far.
Thank you to The Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch for hosting me on my working weekend. I was provided a room and some of my meals during my stay.
Recently I joined a group of women that all live in Arizona to create a mastermind group. We are all bloggers, so we are able to bounce ideas off one another, share strategies for what is working and what is not, as well as helping each other to reach our work goals.

Most of this is done online and we don’t get to all see each other very much. So, we planned a working weekend at the end of September so we could finally all meet face to face and really get into some good discussions about our future blogging goals.
The Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch was so wonderful to host our group there. It is located in Scottsdale, Arizona. The resort features 326 spacious guest rooms and suites, each with elegant décor and a residential ambiance unique among luxury hotels in Scottsdale. Many rooms offer spectacular views of fairways, gardens, and pools.
Some of the ladies arrived on Friday night. I was not able to get there until Saturday around lunchtime. We started off with lunch poolside in two of the cabanas.
The cabanas and pool area of the hotel are gorgeous. The staff was extremely helpful, friendly, and attentive. We had talked about going out to lunch somewhere else, but I am so glad we decided to stay at the hotel for lunch. Everything was delicious at the Twisted Vine Pool Bar and Grill.
We also were able to get some yummy cocktails. I had a peach daiquiri that was perfect and refreshing. The bar easily accommodated those of our group that does not drink alcohol by making some mocktails. The lava flow was a favorite of several of the girls.
After the poolside chat and lunch, we all headed to our beautiful rooms to get ready for dinner. The room I was in was very nice. It featured lovely Southwest decor. The bed was really comfortable to sleep in.
We headed down to the front part of the hotel to get our headshots taken by Kate. The entire resort has so many places for gorgeous photo opportunities.
We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant, Kitchen West.
We started with appetizers that we all shared.
Each of us ordered something different for dinner. I had the Buccatini Primavera with Shrimp. The pasta was delicious and the shrimp were perfectly cooked.
I had a Maud Mule with my dinner. It came in the cutest little can cup.
And we had the most amazing desserts we all shared. The carrot cake was by far my favorite, with the creme brulee a close second.
On Sunday morning I took an early morning walk along the golf course. The views from the room and golf course are breathtaking.
The Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch is the perfect staycation spot for families, a couples retreat, or working weekends. It is also a wonderful place to stay in Scottsdale if you are visiting from out of town.
