Create a stunning fall centerpiece with this easy succulent foam pumpkin craft! Perfect for autumn decor, this DIY project combines artificial succulents, a foam pumpkin, and moss for a fresh, seasonal look.
I am still doing some fall crafting over here. I don’t decorate for Christmas until after Thanksgiving, so my home is now decked out in fall decor.
Have you ever seen the small foam pumpkins at Dollar Tree and wondered what you can do with them? Today, I am sharing how you can fancy it up to make a succulent foam pumpkin.
How to Make a Succulent Foam Pumpkin
This decorated pumpkin is easy to make with just a few simple supplies and steps. I purchased everything I needed for this craft at Dollar Tree.
Supplies:
Use your hot glue gun to attach reindeer moss to the top of the pumpkin.
Separate the succulents from the longer stems. There will still be a small “stem” at the bottom of each succulent you can use to poke into the pumpkin.
Use a poker to create a small hole in the top of the pumpkin for each succulent. I used my Cricut piercing tool, but you can use anything small and sharp – a small screwdriver or chopstick would work well.
Then, push the stem of each succulent into the top of the pumpkin. If the stem seems to be falling out, you can add a dab of hot glue to it before placing it in the pumpkin.
Helpful tip: Use an odd number of succulents. Odd numbers tend to be more pleasing to the eye. If you use a larger pumpkin, you can use 5, 7, or 9 succulents in different sizes.
This pumpkin was so easy and quick to make. It will make a great addition to my fall decor. You could also use it as a centerpiece for a Thanksgiving table.
