Spread Joy with Cricut Cards. Send a little love. Easily make handmade cards in minutes with the new Cricut Joy machine and insert cards.
I am beyond grateful for all of the nurses, doctors, and first responders working on the front lines to keep all of us healthy and safe. The sacrifices they are making for the rest of us are so great.
I have partnered with Cricut to send a little joy to all of my nurse friends. I know they could use a little pick me up right about now, and this is one small way I can give back and say thank you.
Other ideas for who to send cards to are doctors, emergency room personnel, children’s hospitals, nursing homes, or even an elderly relative or neighbor. Join us in spreading a little joy!*
*Please be sure to check with any organization you plan to send cards to, to be sure they are receiving mail at this time.
How to Make a Card with Cricut Joy
Supplies:
Start by creating a design in Cricut Design Space. If you select Cards from the categories list you will automatically have hundreds of pre-made designs at your fingertips.
I chose three designs and then added a cut out to the latte card, butterflies to the hexagon card, and words to the flower bouquet card. It is so easy to personalize the designs to create exactly what you want.

If you don’t want to create your own designs, simply open the file below to make the same cards I did.

Note: The instructions to draw and cut are the same for each card.
Click Make It. On the mat preview page, select On Card Mat (for pre-folded cards) and select Done.
The insert cards come in two sizes. Select the size of the card from the drop-down menu under each card preview. Then click Continue.
Choose Insert Card – Cardstock for the material.
You will be prompted to load the black pen in the clamp.
Slide the back of the card under the clear mat, and then fold over the top half of the card onto the sticky side.
Load the CardMat into the machine. Click Go.
After the pen is done writing, you will be prompted to change to the fine point blade in the clamp. Then click Go.
Once everything is completed, click on Unload to release the mat.
Add a card insert to the inside of the front of the card using the slits in the corners to attach it. These cards are so easy, you don’t even need adhesive to make them!
If you want to add any embellishments to the card, like the butterflies I added to the thank you card, make sure to choose, On Mat for that set of images on the mat preview page. Select the material you are cutting (I chose Cardstock) from the materials list. Follow the on-screen instructions to cut out the butterflies.
You can mix and match the card packs if they are the same size to give you tons of options. Or even cut an insert from a different color cardstock as I did for the card above.
I love that I can easily make cards from home in just minutes with only a few simple supplies. Spreading joy through a little happy mail is one way to stay positive during these challenging times.
