Road Trip Game Printables. Use these free printable road trip activities to keep the kids busy in the car. They include a license plate game and a road trip scavenger hunt.
We are getting ready to go on our big annual camping trip, which we take every year for Memorial Day weekend. It is a lot of food, fun, and friends!
We look forward to it every year, although I don’t always look forward to the car ride with the kids. It is only about a 2 1/2-hour drive, but the kids can quickly get bored and whiny.
I decided to create a road trip binder for each of the kids. I will add to these over time so the kids don’t get bored with them. As I have more time, I have two free printables to share with you today.
Free Road Trip Game Printables
Ideas for how to use this free printable:
- Make them reusable:
- Laminate and use with a dry-erase marker
- Place in a clear page protector and use a wet-erase marker
- Use a timer to make it a race
- Add to your road trip binder for long car rides

License Plate Game Printable
I am sure some of you played this game as a kid—the “License Plate Game.”
In this game, you try to find a license plate from each state. Your child can mark off each plate as he or she sees it. I used images I found on The US50 to create this printable.

Road Trip Scavenger Hunt Printable
Next, I created a road trip scavenger hunt. You could also adapt this to use for bingo.
My kids are little, so just searching for each of the items on the sheet will definitely keep them busy.
This one is somewhat specific to Arizona since we live there. The images are from the Manual of Traffic Signs by Richard C. Moeur.
