I don’t know about your kids, but my 8 year old son is completely crazy for Minecraft. He eats, sleeps and breathes it! This year we even had a Minecraft themed birthday party for him. We have it installed on every device we own. When I first heard of the Gameband for Minecraft, I knew it would be the perfect gift idea for him for Christmas! If you have a Minecraft lover in your family, this is THE gift to get them!
If you haven’t yet seen this awesome product, you definitely need to check it out! You can find in the mobile gaming section at GameStop. They are flying off the shelves, so you may have to ask if your local GameStop has it behind the counter. They come in two sizes – small (6.7 inches / 15.7 cm) and large (7.2 inches / 17.3 cm) – so be sure to choose the right size when purchasing your gift!
When I told my son about it, he was so excited. We couldn’t wait to get it and try it out. Basically the Gameband Minecraft™ allows you to save your Minecraft worlds you create on the computer onto the band and backs them up into the cloud-based servers.
It has a USB port that plugs right into your computer. You can then save your worlds and take them anywhere you go.
My son, Thomas, and my dad talk Minecraft every time we get together. Now, my son is able to take the worlds he creates at home to grandpa’s house! This is so much fun for both of them.
And so far, I have not allowed my son to play Minecraft on my laptop because I was worried about the worlds taking up too much space. Now he can save the worlds he creates on the PC and play straight from the Gameband Minecraft after plugging it in to my laptop.
Using the Gameband was easy. Plug it into your computer and follow the onscreen instructions. The first time you plug it in it may take a little bit to load your worlds onto it depending on how many you have and how extensive they are.
My son’s favorite part of the Gameband is that you can wear it like a watch.
He couldn’t wait to show it to all his friends at school. The Gameband comes preloaded with the PixelFurnace App. It allows you to fully customize your Gameband. We added the date, time, my son’s name and a sword and bow to his band. He thought that was the coolest thing ever. You can even share your animations you create on the PixelFurnace site.
You can learn a little more about the Gameband in this unboxing video on YouTube:
The Gameband belongs to Now Computing and is affiliated with Minecraft. If you have any feedback on the Gameband you should reach out to Now Computing.
Are your kids as crazy for Minecraft as mine are?
