If you follow me on Instagram, you may already know I got a new 50mm lens for my Canon camera. It is taking a bit of a learning curve to get used to it, since it is a fixed lens. Basically all this means is YOU, the photographer have to move forward or backward to get what you want in the shot, rather than having the lens do the work for you.
This month, I tried out the Lavender Lush Texture Overlay by Life-n-Reflection. Overlays are great for photo editing, because it literally takes only seconds to completely transform the look of your photos.
I took some pictures of pretty things growing around our house with my 50mm lens. I will show you the pictures straight from my camera, and then the after picture using the overlays. All of the edits were made using Photoshop Elements.
- Add the Lavender Lush Overlay #4
- Apply the hard light blending mode
- Reduce the opacity to 55%
- Add the Lavender Lush overlay #3
- Apply the Linear Light blending mode
- Reduce the opacity to 65%
- Brighten photo
- Add Lavender Lush Overlay #1
- Apply Color Burn blending mode
- Reduce opacity to 55%
Have you ever used a Photoshop overlay before?
