How to Use the Arrange Tool in Cricut Design Space
When adding multiple objects or text to a project, you often need them to appear in a certain order on the canvas. Anytime you add a new object, it will appear on top of all your other images or text.
Start by opening a new project in Cricut Design Space. You will find the Arrange tool in the Edit Bar at the top of the screen on the Desktop.

How to Use Arrange – Two Objects
Let’s start by adding a couple of shapes to the canvas.
The circle is on top of the heart. To have the heart on top, select the circle, click Arrange, and then Send Backward.
Now, the heart is on top, and the circle is on the bottom.
How to Use Arrange – Three or More Objects
Let’s add a third shape, a star.
Let’s make the order star, circle, heart, with the heart on top. Click on the star, Arrange, and Send to Back.
In the layers panel, you can see that the order is star, circle, heart – with the star on top and the circle on the bottom, just like on the canvas.
Arrange Options
- Bring to Front – Move the object to the front of the stacking order. This will make it appear at the top of the layers panel.
- Bring Forward – Move the selected object one layer forward in the stacking order.
- Send Backward – Move the selected object one layer backward in the stacking order.
- Send to Back – Move the object to the back of the stacking order. This will make the object appear at the bottom of the layers panel.
