If you read my blog on a regular basis, you know I am a bit obsessed fond of Pinterest. It might just be the coolest thing since sliced bread.
I lovingly wrote about how much I love Pinterest here.
Do you see that little icon over in my sidebar, below the “Follow Me on Facebook” section? It looks like this:
Today I am going to show you how to add one to your blogger blog. I am sure the process is similar for WordPress and other platforms.
First, log into your Pinterest account. Click on the “About” tab in the upper right corner.
Click on the “Goodies” tab on the left side of your screen. {The goodies tab is also the place to grab your “Pin It” button to add to your bookmark bar.}
You will scroll down until you see a heading that says: “Follow Button” for Websites. It looks like this:
You can click on any of the four pictures and then html code will appear next to it for you to copy and paste. I chose the top icon.
Now you are going to need to log into your blogger account. Go to your blog homepage. Click on the “layout” tab. {I have upgraded to the new blogger interface. The steps are still the same even if you are using the old interface, but the following screen shots will look a little different.}
After clicking on the layout tab, click on “Add a gadget”.
When the pop up box opens, scroll down until you see “HTML/JavaScript”. Click on the “+” button.
Another pop up box will open. This is the place where you will paste that code you found on pinterest:
Copy and paste the code in the large box that says “content”. You can add a title that will show up on your side bar as well. I just left mine blank. Click “save” and you are done!
{Note: You can move around any gadget you add in the layout screen of blogger. After it is saved, just click on it and drag it to where you want it to be.}
See how easy that was? Now we can all share our love of Pinterest with others. And if you want to follow me on Pinterest, you know where to find me.
