Create a Holiday Bucket List
Include all the ideas you have for where you want to go, what you want to do, who you want to see, and why you celebrate.
Write Down Family Traditions
For example, I will include traditions we always do every year in October like carving pumpkins, having hot apple cider, and roasting pumpkin seeds.
Choose Some New Activities
I will also include activities I would like to do such as visiting the pumpkin festival, driving to see the leaves changing, and going apple picking. We don’t necessarily do these every year, but we try to.
You may want to include your “reason for the season”. If you are religious, faith may be a priority for your family to focus on for the holidays.
Maybe you have always wanted to spend more time giving back to the community but can’t seem to find the time. Or maybe you have recipes you want to try, craft projects to make, or gift ideas for your loved ones.
Get Ideas
If you are struggling to find ideas, check out my free printable bucket lists below. Print them out, add them to your binder, and get inspired!
Include Your Family
Write all of these things down in one spot. This is a great activity to do as a family. You might be surprised by what your kids or spouse would like to do that maybe you didn’t think of. I printed out a separate one for each month/holiday. That way I am not mixing Halloween ideas with Christmas ones.
Save For Next Year
At the end of the holiday, you can reflect on what you were able to do, what you did not have time for, and things that may have come up that you want to be sure to make time for next year.
