How to Make a Harry Potter Hogwarts Banner
Supplies:
Use Cricut to Cut Banner PIeces
Open Cricut Design Space to the Harry Potter Hogwarts Banner file I created. Click Make It. Cricut has a lot of fun Harry Potter images to choose from. I chose the four house crests for this project.
Cricut Design Space File: Harry Potter Hogwarts Banner
Note: You can choose Customize when opening the file to make changes to the size of the banner before cutting if you would like.
The first sheet that will be cut is the print then cut Hogwarts house crest stickers. I like to check Use System Dialog before printing anything so I can customize the settings to print at the best quality. This will look a little different for every printer.
Once the sticker sheet has been printed, load it onto a LightGrip cutting mat and cut with the Cricut.
I have found using the Washi Sheet setting works well for my particular sticker paper. Always check if the sticker is cut all the way through before unloading your mat. If it did not, you can click the Go button again to do a second cut.
Next, cut out all the cardstock banner pieces using the Cricut. Change the material setting from Washi Sheet to the correct Cardstock setting from the drop-down menu before cutting.
Hogwarts House Colors:
- Gryffindor: Red and Gold
- Slytherin: Green and Silver
- Hufflepuff: Yellow and Black
- Ravenclaw: Blue and Bronze
Cut out the corresponding large banner pieces from the first color listed above, and the thin strips from the second color listed. I used shimmer cardstock for the gold, silver, and bronze.
Assemble the Hogwarts Banner
Once you have all your pieces cut out you can assemble the banner.
The thin strips will be glued to the larger banner pieces.
Add the house crest sticker to the corresponding banner piece.
Use a small hole punch to create two holes at the top edge of the banner.
String your banner together with ribbon or twine. I decided to use four different colors of twine in the main house colors.

I find it helpful to wrap a piece of tape around the end of the twine to make it easier to thread through the holes.
This banner would be perfect for a Harry Potter party or in a Harry Potter-themed room.
