Gift Wrap Organization. Keep all your gift-wrapping supplies organized with these simple tips. Organize gift wrap, tissue paper, cards, and gift bags.
Today we are talking about gift wrap organization. This goes hand in hand with the Organize Your Holiday binder. Being able to easily find what you have in one convenient location makes it so easy any time you need to wrap a gift.
There are many ways to organize your gift-wrapping supplies, but today I will show you what works for me. And then I will share some other great options I have found online on other ways to keep things organized.

How to Organize Gift Wrap Supplies
First up, you need to take inventory of what gift wrap supplies you have and what supplies you need to purchase. Hitting the after holiday sales is a great way to stock up if you are running low on anything.
Next, decide where you want to store your supplies. A small closet, under the bed, on a shelf, or in a rolling cart are all great options.
Types of Gift Wrap Supplies:
It makes sense to keep all your gift-wrapping supplies together if you have the space. Then, you don’t have to go all over the house to try to find what you need. Below are some of the things you may want to keep with your wrapping supplies.
- Wrapping Paper
- Ribbon
- Bows
- Tape
- Scissors
- Gift Bags
- Tissue Paper
- Cards

I keep everything in one location in my craft room closet. There is a shelf and a hanging bar for me to organize my supplies.
Gift Bag Storage
On the shelf, I keep cards, ribbons, scissors, gift tags, and all my gift bags.
For the larger gift bags, I used the biggest gift bag I had on hand to place all the rest inside it. On the shelf above, you can see the large lime green bag. It contains all my large gift bags.
For the smaller gift bags, I used a plastic bin from Dollar Tree to keep them all in one spot. We always reuse bags (as long as they are still in good shape), so I often have what I need on hand without having to purchase anything new.
Card Storage and Organization
I have two plastic storage containers for cards. I use these to store both store-bought and handmade cards. Each bin contains dividers to separate the cards by type.

A few times a year, I go to Dollar Tree and stock up on birthday, sympathy, and thank you cards to always have on hand throughout the year.
I do still purchase cards that I pick out for a specific person, but it helps to have some general cards on hand when a last-minute party or invitation comes up.
For Christmas, we usually do photo cards that we personalize each year, but I do have some Christmas cards on hand for adding to a gift, as needed.
Miscellaneous Gift Wrapping Supplies
I like to keep tape, scissors, ribbons, pens, and gift tags all in one place. I re-used a photo storage box to keep all those supplies in.

Tissue Paper Storage
On the bar, I hang my tissue paper and wrapping paper.
The tissue paper is hung from kid’s hangers. This way it stays unwrinkled and I can see everything I have. I keep it folded in half and then place similar colors all on one hanger.
Target: Kid’s Hangers
I try to reuse tissue paper that isn’t ripped when we receive gifts. I lay it flat on the table, smooth the wrinkles, and then fold it in half. Then, I hang it on the appropriate hanger.
I have a hanger for each color, plus one for birthdays, glitter, floral, and Christmas tissue paper.
Wrapping Paper Organization
Wrapping paper is stored in a garment bag. It keeps it up off the floor and dust free. I can fit about 14 or 15 rolls of paper in one bag.
A tall trash can or bin can also work to store wrapping paper.

More Gift Wrap Organization
If you don’t have space in a closet, or you like to wrap gifts in different locations, a gift wrap cart is a great solution. You can keep all your supplies in one location and move them to whatever room you are wrapping in.

The back of a closet door also works well to corral all your gift-wrapping supplies. This is an often overlooked area to use for storage.

And last, but not least, you can get a storage bin to store under the bed. A regular plastic tote will do the trick, or you can get one that can compartmentalize all of your items.
