DIY Felt Eyeglass Case. Learn how to create a felt eyeglass case with just a few simple supplies and minutes of your time. Keep your glasses protected and within easy reach.
I don’t know if you know this about me, but I wear glasses. I am slightly nearsighted and have an astigmatism. Overall, my eyes are pretty good. I am grateful I usually only wear glasses while driving and have prescription sunglasses.
How to Make a Felt Eyeglass Case
Since I don’t always wear my regular glasses, I am constantly losing them. This is a problem when I have to drive at night. I thought it would be good to make a felt eyeglass case to keep my glasses in my purse so I always have them when needed.
Supplies:
Cut the Felt
This project is very simple. I cut the felt to 7″ x 6″, using a fun polka dot glitter felt.
Note: Using a rotary cutter and gridded ruler helps, but you can cut the felt with regular scissors and use a ruler to mark it.
Stitch the Felt
Fold the felt in half. I attached the two layers of felt using a blanket stitch. Start by making a knot in the embroidery floss (6 strands) and bring the needle down through the bottom layer of the felt about 1/4″ from the edge.
Bring the needle down through the top layer so your needle comes out in the back at the same place where you started.
Thread the needle through the loop you just made.
Next, poke the needle down through both layers of the felt about 1/4″ from your first stitch. You will thread your needle over the loop you create from the first stitch.
Continue this process around the bottom and side of the felt.

You could easily embellish the front of this case with more embroidery or a fun iron-on design. The sparkly polka dots were cute, so I didn’t add embellishments.
I plan to keep this in my purse, so I always have my glasses at night when I need them. Please tell me I am not the only one who misplaces her glasses all the time!
