Welcome to day four of Craft Lightning Felt Edition. I hope you have been enjoying all the fun and easy felt projects that have been shared this week. I don’t know if you know this about me, but I wear glasses. I am slightly nearsighted and have astigmatism. I am grateful overall my eyes are pretty good. I usually only wear glasses when I am driving, and I have prescription sunglasses.
However, since I don’t wear them all the time, I am constantly losing my regular glasses. This is a problem when I have to drive at night. I thought it would be good to make a felt eyeglass case to keep my glasses in my purse so I always have them when I need them.

Felt Eyeglass Case
Supplies:
This project is actually very simple. I started with a fun polka dot glitter felt to use. Start by cutting the felt to 7″ x 6″.
Note: Use of a rotary cutter and gridded ruler help, but you can definitely cut the felt with regular scissors and use a ruler to mark it.
Fold the felt in half. I attached the two layers of felt using a blanket stitch. Start by making a knot in the embroidery floss (6 strands) and bring the needle down through the bottom layer of the felt about 1/4″ from the edge.
Bring the needle down through the top layer so that your needle comes out in the back at the same place where you started.
Thread the needle through the loop you just made.
Next, poke the needle down through both layers of the felt about 1/4″ from your first stitch. You will thread your needle over the loop you are creating from the first stitch.
Continue this process around the bottom and side of the felt.

You could easily embellish the front of this case with more embroidery or a fun iron-on design. I chose to leave mine plain since the sparkly polka dots were cute by themselves.
I plan to just keep this in my purse so I always have my glasses at night when I need them. Please tell me I am not the only one who misplaces her glasses all the time!
