Dollar Tree Vintage Truck Fall Sign. Use supplies from Dollar Tree to create a pretty vintage hanging sign to welcome fall.
Who else is ready to start decorating for fall? I have a ton of fall decorations but I found a lot of cute craft supplies from Dollar Tree that I knew I could use to add to my decor.

How to Make a Vintage Truck Fall Sign with Supplies from Dollar Tree
Supplies:
- 11″ x 14″ frame
- White Paint
- Always Stay Humble Placemat
- Harvest Sign
- Pop Dot Tape
- Faux Flowers
- Jute Twine
- Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
Start by taking the glass and backing out of the frame. Paint the frame white. I wasn’t overly careful about full coverage because I planned to distress the frame after it dried.
I used two coats of Folkart Matte Wicker White Acrylic Paint because it is what I had on hand. If you don’t already have paint at home, you can pick up white paint while you get your other supplies at Dollar Tree. Allow the paint to dry.
Use sandpaper to lightly distress the frame. I sanded around the edges some, as well as a little bit on the raised dot detailing on the inside edge.
Cut the plastic placemat to fit the frame. The frame I used was 11″ x 14″ and the placemat is 11.25″ x 17.125″. So, on the short edge, just trim off a little from each side until it fits the frame. On the longer edge, trim off a little over 3″ on each edge.
I used my mini rotary cutter and a clear ruler to trim mine, but you could also use a pair of scissors.
Once the placemat is trimmed, place it in the frame. Place the glass and cardboard in the frame behind the placemat to give it some stability and then close the metal tabs over the cardboard to secure the frame.
You could stop here if you wanted a cute farmhouse sign for your home. But, we are going to add a few more things to make this the perfect sign for fall.
Next, we are going to add the vintage truck to the placemat. Either remove the hanging string, or pull both ends to the back of the frame.
Place strips of the pop-top tape on the backside of the vintage truck. Remove the protective strip and place the vintage truck in the center of the sign.
Use a hot glue gun to attach a faux flower to the top of the truck.
You could hang up your sign as is, but I wanted to add a little something extra and make a braided hanger for mine.
Cut 9 – 18″ pieces of jute twine.
Tie a knot at the top of all 9 pieces of twine.
Separate the twine into three groups of 3 pieces of twine. Braid the sections of twine. You could do three pieces of twine instead of nine, but I wanted a thicker looking braid.
At the end of the braid knot the strands together.
Use a hot glue gun to attach the braided hanger to the back of the frame.
I think this fall sign turned out so cute! You could definitely hang the truck sign as is, but I love how it looks with the frame and the weathered wood look background.
