Welcome to day 17 of the ‘31 Days of Deep Cleaning Your Home‘ series!
Today’s task is to clean behind, under and around your living room furniture.
I think most of us do a pretty good job of cleaning our main areas of our homes. However, I don’t think most of us really get under and behind the furniture on a regular basis.
We are just doing our living room (or family room) today. Grab your helper and pull the furniture out from the wall.
Yes, this is the mess of cords I had going on behind the TV. I did get these all straightened out and will share that at another time. Basically, you just want to move your furniture away from the wall, vacuum or sweep, then move the furniture back. If you have cords behind your TV, check to see if they need to be dusted. If they do, just wipe them down with a dry cloth.
Depending on what kind of furniture you have, you might be able to clean underneath it without actually having to move it. You may be able to just get your vacuum attachment underneath your furniture if you have enough clearance. I can do this with my sectional couch. On one side is a pull out bed, so if I remove the cushions, I can pull the bed partially up and vacuum underneath. On the other side, I have recliners that pull out. I have to lay down on the floor, but I can vacuum underneath the couch this way as well.
Since I have vinyl tile in my house, I usually end up having to do some mopping or spot cleaning since sometimes food or drinks get spilled in our living room.
See you back here tomorrow for day 18 of 31 Days of Deep Cleaning Your Home.

Sometimes cleaning underneath your living room furniture may be overlooked. Thanks for making a point for us to remember this.
