Make it Now
First, open Cricut Design Space. As you scroll down there are lots of categories of Make It Now projects to choose from on the home page. You can select View All next to any category to search for a specific project.
Choose Cards from the drop-down menu. Then type in Christmas in the search bar.
We are going to make the Ugly Christmas Sweater Card & Envelope. The project creates one card and matching envelope. When you click on the project you want, it will show you exactly what supplies you need to create the project, as well as instructions. Click the green Make It button.
This will pull up the mat preview page. You can see which papers to place on each mat and whether you will need to score or draw on that material. If you have more than one mat, you can prepare several of the mats ahead of time. Click the green Continue button.
I didn’t want my envelope to become too bulky so the inner liner I printed out on standard printer paper rather than cardstock. Click the green Send to Printer button.
Load the paper onto the mat and choose Paper on the Smart Set Dial. Load the mat into the Cricut and click Go on the machine. Repeat this process for all 7 mats.
Helpful tip: Follow onscreen instructions for using the scoring stylus and pen, as needed, by inserting each one into accessory clamp A when prompted.
Note: For the second white cardstock mat, you will need to first use the scoring stylus. Then, onscreen it will prompt you to remove the stylus and add the pen to clamp A.
Once you have all of your pieces cut out, it is time to assemble the card and envelope. Start by attaching the red cut out on top of the green cut out piece. Be sure to line everything up before attaching.
Then, attach those pieces on top of the gold or silver card. Adhere the white cut out card on top of the entire piece. Using a glue pen to adhere the small pieces can help.
To assemble the envelope, first, attach the triangle to the top of the envelope using the scored part as a guide to line everything up. Adhere the printed rectangle onto the middle.
Assemble the envelope by folding on the score marks and using adhesive to secure the flaps.

Customize Make It Now Project
If you want to customize your project and change anything about the design, click on the white Customize button rather than the green Make It button when you pull up the project.
From here you can add text to the card or envelope, add additional design elements, and more. One fun idea is to change the pattern inside the envelope. Simply click on each envelope piece in the layers panel, then select one of the many patterns available.
Once you have all your changes made, you can click the green Make It button and follow the onscreen instructions for loading and cutting, scoring, and drawing on your mats.
