If you have been around my blog for any period of time, you know I LOVE pens! I love to doodle, sketch and draw. I also love to make handmade gifts and gift tags.

Does your child have a special teacher in his/her life? The holidays are a perfect time to say thank you and we appreciate you to all those hard-working teachers. To make a gift extra special it is always nice to include a little hand-written note.

I don’t know about you, but I think baked goods can be the perfect gift. Whether you make it from scratch or pick up a special something from the store, you are sure to make the recicipient happy! This time of year pies are always a hit.

To create the gift tag you need a square of kraft paper card stock. I cut mine down to 4″ x 6″. 

Note: To make it easier to hand draw wording or pictures, use a ruler and light pencil marks so all your writing is straight.

I wrote the words “Have a Berry Christmas” along with some pine needles and a pine cone using my Prairie Berry pen from the 36 pack of BIC Mark-It™ permanent markers. These markers are great because they are low odor and acid free!

Wrap up your pie with tissue paper or clear cellophane wrap. Use some baker’s twine to secure the paper around the pie, punch a hole in your handwritten tag, and tie it on!
