My dear friend, Laura Kelly, has organized a Halloween Blog Hop Party! I am thrilled to be participating this year. The challenge was to take a plain popcorn box and decorate it however you want! Of course, mine had to include washi tape, my favorite crafting supply!
Supplies needed: (contains affiliate links)
- Plain popcorn box
- Patterned paper and card stock
- Collage pauge (or glue)
- Cricut Explore
- Washi tape
- X-acto knife
- Aleene’s tacky glue
- Adhesive foam squares
To start, you will take your plain popcorn box and trace each side onto patterned paper.
I used two different papers. One for the sides and one for the front and back.
Attach the patterned paper to your popcorn box using collage pauge. You can also use any other kind of decopauge glue or even regular glue.
Cut out a pumpkin shape with your Cricut Explore. You could also cut out a pumpkin shape by hand if you don’t have a cutting machine.
On the top pumpkin shape, cover the entire shape with washi tape.
Then, turn your pumpkin shape over and trim the excess washi tape. I like to use an X-acto knife but you can also use scissors.
Color in the face shape on the bottom green paper with a black Sharpie pen or marker.
Glue the shapes together.
Attach the pumpkin shape to your popcorn box with foam adhesive squares.
Fill your box with popcorn and enjoy!
And now, onto the giveaway so you can win your own supplies to have a fun popcorn party for yourself!
One lucky reader will win a $50 Fandango Movie gift card, a pack of popcorn boxes from World Market and $45 of I Love to Create craft supplies to decorate with.
