Handmade Ornaments

I made these ornaments in 2009 before I started blogging. They were a easy, inexpensive way to make some really beautiful ornaments to give as gifts.

Supplies needed:

  • Glass ornaments
  • Scrapbook paper
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Ribbon
  • Embellishments (Optional)
Step One:
I used scrapbook paper that had different Christmas/holiday sayings on it. Cut the words into long strips
Step Two:
Open the top of the ornament and place the strips of paper inside.
Step Three:
Put the top back in place and secure a ribbon on the top. I added some small snowflake shapes I found near the buttons to the ribbon. I just added a jump ring to the snowflake and attached it to the top.

  2. I just made one like this, and I love it.:) Thanks so much!

  3. They are so great! Thanks so much for joining in on our Tag-Along Thursday Blog Hop, I am now following your lovely blog. Em

  4. They do look great and almost easy enough for the kids to join in on part of it , don’t you think? Did your 5 year old help?

  5. Lesley – I made these by myself. I did them two years ago, so my son had just turned 3. But I do think you could do this project with kids. You might just have to cut the paper strips for them. Although, my 5 year old loves to use the paper trimmer! :)

  6. These are so pretty and simple. Love the ribbon you used too. I am a new Fb fan visiting from Sugar Bee Crafts. Vicky from Mess For Less
